Owner Tom Moore opened Ocean Pride Seafood as a wholesale fish market with a clear vision: to create Ventura's finest seafood market. His early training gave him extensive knowledge and an unwavering passion for perfection.
Once word of his quality selections spread, offers from well-known restaurants and country clubs began landing on his plate. Although he had an affinity for wholesale, Tom knew greater challenges and opportunities awaited him in serving the public.
Tom opened his doors to the public with room to experiment, creating an eclectic Fresh Fish case that quickly gained attention. He never lost sight of his passion for the freshest seafood.
Understanding that public recognition required excellence, Tom committed to using only the finest products available. Before selling his first filet, he made a vow: only the freshest fish would grace his cases.
